Music Co-Curricular

A student involved in music at Castleknock College is kept busy, through the seasons. From the Annual College Musical Production in November, to the Christmas Carol Service with a number festive performances in the local community, the Autumn term is a busy one indeed. With rehearsals running weekly for orchestras, ensembles and choirs, through the year, students also perform at lunch time concerts, a Solo Showcase Concert and The Annual Prizegiving Ceremony, among other events that run in the terms that follow.

We are very proud that music at Castleknock College is for everyone. Regardless of experience, all students are encouraged to perform together in a highly inclusive environment, with opportunities created for boys from all years to play as a whole school ensemble, at larger events. From our beginners in 1^st Year Band, right through to our more experienced players in Concert Orchestra, there is something for everyone in becoming confident in their performance skills.

With lessons also offered in school, on a number of instruments from top-class teachers, a rich experience of music is offered to all pupils in their time at Castleknock.
