Jun 06 All-Ireland Athletics at Tullamore

This was our finest day at athletics, with boys in no less than seven events.  We came within 60m of winning the College of Science Trophy for the top senior boys' school in the country.  Harry won two golds, Conor Bermingham took silver in the Pole Vault and our Senior Relay was coming from behind on the home straight when Harry pulled a muscle and fell to the ground.  Had he come in the first 6, the trophy was ours.  Never in our history have we won it – but our day will come.

Well done also to Sammy Magdeldin who came second in the hammer with a throw of 47.44 m!

Conor Birmingham also came second in the pole vault with a clearance at 3.85 m.  Well done!

James Kennedy came fourth in the pole vault with a PB of 2.45! Well done!

Liam Gibbons finished 6th in Ireland in the walk.  Congrats to him.  His coach has high hopes for him, as he has a 'most natural walk'.
