May 23 Junior Gold Medal Debate

This afternoon we held the Junior Gold Medal Debate in the Concert Hall.  The standard of speaking was extremely high.  There was brilliant rebuttal of points of order or information.  The debate was on the issue of the new Junior Cert.  The winner (centre above) was First Year student, Dara O'Boyle who received his gold medal from Mr Murphy.  Thanks to Mr O'Halloran for adjudicating and to Jack Liston for keeping time.

It must be said that the standard of listening was equally high.  There was great respect shown to each speaker by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year students who were there.

Many thanks to Ms Sharon Coombes for her work with the Junior Debating Society all through the year.
