Jan 14 Judge Anthony Hederman R.I.P

Past man Anthony Hederman was laid to rest this week.

Born in Dublin, he was educated at Castleknock College in Dublin and went on to obtain an honours degree in legal and political science from University College Dublin. He was Attorney General of Ireland from July 1977 to June 1981. In 1981, he was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Ireland and served until 1993. He was later appointed as the president of the Law Reform Commission.

The service was conducted in the school chapel and followed by his burial on the grounds of the college. The College would like to thank the efforts and contributions of so many: staff who led the singing at the Mass, other colleagues who covered for them at rehearsal; senior students who also led the singing, both from the gallery and from the altar; Colm Hawkes who sang the Psalm and Niall Barrett who played the organ, both at a professional standard; all the young men in 6th year in their various assigned roles.

A number of people, too many to count, contacted the College directly to compliment the singing and the singers for the dignity they brought to the occasion.
