Sport at St Vincent's Castleknock College is not an add-on to the curriculum - rather it is very much a part of the curriculum. The college believes in the ancient maxim: Mens sana in corpore sana i.e. A healthy mind in a healthy body.
Rugby is the sport of choice and is compulsory for 1st and 2nd year students. On the days of cup matches the whole college attends the game in support of the team. However rugby is not the only sport played at the college, there are many others to choose from. The college offers athletics, tennis, table tennis, cross-country running, cricket, basketball, soccer (for senior players), even golf and rowing. Swimming is part of the curriculum in transition year and occasionally the college has entered teams for swimming galas.
One of the most popular and successful sports under the guiding hand of professional coach Tibor Pofuk.
There are Junior and Senior Debating Societies, who meet regularly to prepare and take part in debates.
